The Teaching with Technology Certificate (TWT) program is now available for instructors. The TWT certificate, formerly offered exclusively to graduate students, is a non-credit certificate showing that an instructor or teaching assistant has demonstrated the innovative use of technology in teaching.

The TWT program will now be available to instructors who have used technology in a course. This may include full-time instructors, part-time instructors, and instructors who have other roles within Penn State.

Requirements for the new certificate option are nearly identical to those of the graduate TWT certificate; program participants create a Web-based portfolio showcasing knowledge, skills, and achievements using technology for teaching. A committee within the participant’s academic unit then reviews the portfolio for both educational and subject matter criteria.

The instructor TWT program is co-sponsored by Human Resources and Information Technology Services. To enroll, instructors should contact their department’s TWT representative to state their interest in the program, and then register within the HRDC system in one of the “Teaching with Technology Certificate” sections.

Department coordinators for the TWT program are listed at http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/twt/contacts. If no coordinator is listed for your department, you may contact twtc@psu.edu so that they can assist in finding a coordinator. Additional information is available at http://ets.tlt.psu.edu/twt/getstarted.
