The next installment of the “Security Series” offered by Security Operations and Services (SOS) and ITS Training Services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm via a Meeting@PennState desktop videoconference. This session, entitled “Minimum Security Baseline (MSB)Category 1 – Protection from the Public Internet or External Network Segments,” will be presented by Ed Smiley and is intended for a technical audience.
This session will discuss Category 1 of the MSB that describes the controls necessary to protect PSU Assets from the public Internet or external network segments. These controls range from configuring firewalls to host-based intrusion detection and prevention tools. These controls will be discussed in detail and will help units become compliance with the Minimum Security Baseline (ADG02).
