On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, Information Technology Services (ITS) will archive inactive master courses and learning object repositories to free storage space and improve its management of ANGEL. Archived master courses/repositories will be stored for two years, then permanently deleted.

If you wish a master course or learning object repository in which you have editor rights to remain active, do the following prior to February 4:

  1. Go to ANGEL at http://cms.psu.edu/ and log on using your Penn State Access Account user ID and password.
  2. On the My Profile page, select the name of the master course or repository.
  3. Select the Manage tab.
  4. Beneath the PSU Data Management subheading, select the Archive Settings link.
  5. Check the Do Not Archive check box.
Screen capture of Archive Setting screen with Do Not Archive check box checked.

Check the Do Not Archive check box.

  6. Click the Save button.

Although a master course or learning object repository can have multiple editors, only you as the user who initially changes this setting will be able to change it after it is modified the first time. Other editors of the master course/repository cannot change the setting once you have done so. When they are viewing the Archive Settings, the Do Not Archive setting is grayed out and your name is listed as the user who changed the setting.

Note: If your master course or learning object repository is archived, you as the group editor may request that it be restored using the ANGEL Support contact form at https://cms.psu.edu/psad/psad20/index.asp. Any problems you experience following the directions above should also be reported using this form.
