This summer, beginning June 1, Penn State faculty can request consultation on using the Canvas learning management system from a Technology Learning Assistant (TLA).

TLAs assist faculty one-on-one on their own computer in their own office, providing personalized answers to questions and helping them use Canvas features effectively. Faculty can learn how to set up assignments, quizzes, gradebooks, and other course components.

Please note that in order for TLAs to be available for the greatest number of consultations that they will not be able to assist with complete Canvas course creation or conversion of an ANGEL course to Canvas. For help with a full course conversion, a Canvas instructional support team from ITS Teaching and Learning with Technology is in place to assist faculty. This team also offers virtual office hours to help faculty work through difficulties when they are working on their courses.

To apply for a consultation with a TLA, request assistance with course conversion, or set up virtual office hours with a Canvas instructional support team member, visit http://canvas.psu.edu/#support.

For immediate help with Canvas issues, faculty should continue to contact Canvas support by clicking the “Help” button within Canvas or calling 877-226-4449.

The TLA program is sponsored by Information Technology Services.
