The 2017 Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology is excited to announce that Patricia Perillo, vice president for student affairs and assistant professor of higher education at Virginia Tech, will be joining us for this year’s Symposium closing keynote to explore the wants, needs, challenges, and opportunities facing our students.
Dr. Patricia A. Perillo has been a transformative leader in higher education for the past 25 years. Dr. Perillo provides leadership oversight to faculty, staff, and students in the Division of Students Affairs who are committed to the growth, development, and achievement of students at Virginia Tech. She oversees a budget exceeding $150 million, and is responsible for approximately 3,400 employees and more than 30 percent of the physical capital on campus.
Prior to Virginia Tech, Dr. Perillo served Davidson College; University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC); University of Maryland, College Park; State University of New York at both the Plattsburgh and Albany campuses; and, the University of Delaware. She obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Perillo joins a program that includes Keynote Speaker Sir Ken Robinson, an internationally recognized authority in creativity and innovation in education; a “Fireside Chat” with Penn State President Dr. Eric J. Barron; the Open Innovation Challenge; and more.
