Professional Development

Professional development, scholarship of learning, fellowships, and ample support and resources characterize this TLT hallmark.

Together we can work to better understand and mold the future of teaching, learning, and scholarship

Engagement with faculty from across the University allows us to explore, develop, utilize, and research innovative applications of technology to improve teaching and learning. Through fellowships and engagement awards, faculty are invited to create and explore new teaching tools and learning spaces. Resources in the form of technology tools, design and development support, instructional design expertise, and research experience fuel faculty innovations. To help ensure successful implementation of new tools and approaches, we develop teaching resources and faculty development opportunities. Part of this process is bringing faculty together in common experiences to share their inspirations, reflections, and learning with one another. We promote and support faculty involvement in major initiatives such as development of Open Educational Resources, teaching in active learning classrooms and experience labs, and redesigning residence courses to be delivered as blended models. Such engagements put our faculty at the leading edge of teaching and learning, and position our students for significant learning experiences.
