Inspiring Excellence

Together we can do great work that lifts Penn State to new heights.

By recognizing exemplary work and sharing innovative ideas from all over Penn State, we hope to light many more creative sparks

At TLT, we seek to partner with inspired faculty to carry out our mission of positively transforming teaching and learning through the creative use of technology. We challenge ourselves to be a source of inspiration that can drive Penn State’s talented faculty to new heights of excellence and implement different strategies to meet that goal.

Annually the Open Innovation Challenge (OIC) and the TLT Impact award recognize Penn State instructors who present ideas that impress hundreds of their colleagues and those with a track record of superior work in teaching, learning, and technology, respectively. Dozens of deserving applicants participate in these programs each year, and thorough evaluation is required to uncover the finalists and the winners. Those who win the OIC or receive the Impact Award are demonstrating truly transformative work and ideas.

We also feature and share stories of excellent and inspiring efforts at our University with as wide of an audience as possible. “The Dreamery Sessions” is a podcast that delivers conversations with faculty and students whose projects showcase how digital fluency, innovation, creativity, and emerging technology are improving our community. Penn Staters can also follow us on social media for content that showcases our excellent faculty partners, sign up for the TLT newsletter, and browse our news section headline-worthy info.
