Zach Lonsinger is a Learning Experience Designer focused on developing and facilitating innovative learning experiences centered around emerging technologies and trends. At the Dreamery Co-Learning Lab, he explores and iterates on the future of teaching and learning. Since 2020, Zach has also been an adjunct instructor, teaching courses across the Bellisario College of Communications, the Smeal College of Business and the College of Education. A part of Penn State since 2012, he has contributed to various departments, including Outreach & Online Education, the College of Nursing, Penn State IT and the University Libraries. Zach holds a Master of Education in Learning, Design and Technology from Penn State, along with a certificate in Education Technology Integration.
Zach’s expertise in generative AI and immersive experiences has led him to present at national conferences like EDUCAUSE and NERCOMP. His notable achievements include collaborating with faculty to transition thousands of courses to the Canvas LMS platform during the Penn State LMS Conversion project, leading the IMPACT project—a critical thinking and empathy-based card game—and co-hosting “The Dreamery Sessions” podcast, which highlights stories of Penn State faculty and students. Currently, Zach serves on the EDUCAUSE Young Professionals Advisory Committee (YPAC) for the 2024-2026 term and has held various leadership roles within Penn State. Outside of work, Zach is an avid runner, tackling challenges like the inaugural Happy Valley 70.3 IRONMAN and the Hyner 50K Trail Challenge. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, losing at video games and being outdoors.
