AI-Enhanced Pedagogy: Exploring Generative AI as a Collaborative Partner

Provost Endorsement for Faculty Using Generative AI at Penn State

Endorsement Description

Generative AI technologies often provide free access to rapid searches, technical explanations, creative inspiration, and professional formatting. Yet students in all disciplines avoid using technology for their coursework that is not explicitly recommended or even approved by their instructors. The goal of this endorsement is to help you explore opportunities to use generative AI in your teaching and learning practices and create pathways to support student use of generative AI in their learning activities within your discipline.

By completing this endorsement, participants will:

  • Identify teaching or learning opportunities for equity, ethical practices, or disciplinary skills granted by generative AI technologies.
  • Explore and use at least three Generative AI tools.
  • Review and revise a course or teaching approach with Generative AI to support student success.
  • Create a video of your instructional philosophy with Generative AI that could be given to your students.
