TLT’s IMPACT card game engages players to explore how technology influences life

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Teaching and Learning with Technology has launched IMPACT, an innovative and educational card game designed to engage players in thinking about how technology shapes our daily lives.

IMPACT, which stands for Inclusive and Multicultural Perspectives with Actions, Characters and Technologies, offers a blend of storytelling and scenario-building. Each game begins with a character card that spotlights one individual and their personal journey. As action cards are added, players are challenged to consider how different technologies would affect the character’s society, industry or community.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This month Penn State’s Division of Undergraduate Studies marks its 50th anniversary, celebrating not only a golden jubilee, but a long history of responding to student needs, institutional challenges and an ever-changing world.

Call for proposals now open for 2024 TLT Symposium

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The  2024 Symposium for Teaching and Learning with Technology is just five months away, and the call for session proposals and innovative ideas for the new Spark Challenge are now being accepted.

Session proposals

The March 23 event will showcase faculty and staff sharing how they use technology in unique ways. Session proposals should focus on topics that demonstrate valuable and innovative use of technology to support teaching and learning across one of these five tracks:

  • Student Learning & Success
  • Instructional Approaches & Pedagogy
  • Immersive Experiences
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

New LionPATH option indicates courses with free or low-cost required texts

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A new search option added to LionPATH, Penn State’s student information system, for Spring 2024 indicates that a course section’s required texts costs are free or low-cost, or under $50. The designation will enable students to understand required course text costs at the point of registration.

This change, referred to as a course marker, is a result of work by a One Penn State 2025 Guiding Principle 3 Subcommittee and aligns with the University’s strategic plan foundation Enabling Access to Education.
